Wool & Thermal Winter Socks

Not as default. Our standard wool blend is Australian wool + angora rabbit fiber + spandex (30/60/10 premium tier). We can source mulesing-free Australian merino on request at +$0.20/pair premium and +21 days yarn-sourcing lead time. The blend approach is what most retail private-label wool sock programs run; pure or majority-merino tends to suit specialty outdoor brands at higher retail price points.

Honest answer: for premium outdoor brands targeting REI / mountaineering retail at the Smartwool / Darn Tough tier, factories specializing in 100% merino with mulesing-free traceability are usually a better fit (different machine setups, finer yarn counts). ANV fits mid-tier outdoor and lifestyle thermal: wool-angora blends, 28–65g per pair, $0.47–$1.31 FOB range, retail price point USD 8–25.

300 pairs trial / 2,000 production per SKU per size — same as fashion socks. Note that wool yarn lots have batch minimums of approximately 100kg (about 4,000 pairs equivalent), so trial-tier mid-weight programs sometimes pool yarn purchases across SKUs to hit minimums. Production tier is more efficient.

Sample: 10–14 days (yarn batch must arrive first; we hold standard heather grey and navy in inventory for faster sample turn). Production: 25–35 days for standard blend; +21 days if custom merino requested; +5 days for Fair Isle pattern complexity.

Yes. Cable knit is our default pattern technique for thermal socks. Fair Isle (traditional Nordic geometric — snowflakes, reindeer alternating bands) requires specific machine programs and adds $0.10/pair, +5 days production. Aran (heavy cable + diamond): +$0.08/pair. Up to 8 colors per jacquard pattern.

ANV sources only from Chinese mills compliant with German LFGB animal-welfare standards (live-harvested, monitored conditions). Documentation available per batch. For retailers with stricter brand standards (e.g., H&M-tier no-angora policy), we offer 100% wool blends or wool + alpaca alternatives at equivalent hand-feel.

Synthetic thermal (poly 97% + spandex 3%): $0.39/pair budget. Wool blend mid-weight (wool 5.8% + polyester + acrylic + nylon + spandex): $0.58–$0.70. Premium angora 30% + wool 60% + spandex 10%: $0.47–$1.31 depending on weight and jacquard complexity.
